Dear
year 3 parents,
Year
3 have had a very creative couple of weeks!
At
the beginning of the week, the children designed and made their own Ancient
Egyptian cartouches (name plates), writing in hieroglyphics. They are really
looking forward to painting them next week once they are fully dry.
The
children also enjoyed our science day today where they learnt all about fossils
and Mary Anning and even made their own fossils which we plan to excavate next
week.
We have started rehearsing our Christmas songs
for the Grandparents Tea Party on Tuesday 12th December. We would really
appreciate your support in helping your children learn the words to the songs
below. They have also been sent home with one line to learn ('What Christmas
means to me'). We would like the children to know their lines by heart by
Thursday next week. Loud, clear voices please!
Please
note, although the children will be in school uniform, it would be nice for the
children to wear something a little festive to the party- a Christmassy hair
band, a little tinsel or other small festive accessory would be great. The
children can wear these to school on the 12th.
P.E Lessons
We are outside once a week and the
weather has definitely changed and become cold. Please can you ensure your
child has suitably warm clothes for P.E including socks! (Quite a few girls
wear trainers and no socks) Joggers, sweatshirt, gloves and a beany hat are
advisable. Thank you it makes lessons so much easier if the children are warm
to start with.

Away in a manger
Away in a manger
No crib for a bed
The little Lord Jesus
Lay down His sweet head
No crib for a bed
The little Lord Jesus
Lay down His sweet head
The stars in the night sky
Look down where He lay
The little Lord Jesus
Asleep on the hay
Look down where He lay
The little Lord Jesus
Asleep on the hay
The cattle are lowing
The Baby wakes
But little Lord Jesus
No crying He makes
The Baby wakes
But little Lord Jesus
No crying He makes
I love Thee, Lord Jesus
Look down from the sky
And stay by my bedside
'Til morning is nigh
Look down from the sky
And stay by my bedside
'Til morning is nigh
Be near me, Lord Jesus
I ask Thee to stay
Close by me forever
And love me, I pray
I ask Thee to stay
Close by me forever
And love me, I pray
Bless all the dear children
In Thy tender care
And take us to Heaven
To live with Thee there
In Thy tender care
And take us to Heaven
To live with Thee there
Come and
join the celebration
Come and join the celebration
It’s a very special day
Come and share our jubilation
There’s a new King born today
See the
shepherds
Hurry down
to Bethlehem
Gaze in
wonder
At the son
of God who lay before them
Chorus
Wise men
journey
Led to
worship by a star
Kneel in
homage
Bringing
precious gifts from lands afar, So
Chorus
God is with
us
Round the
world the message bring
He is with
us
Welcome all
the bells on earth are peeling
Chorus
